Bronze Desk with Illustration of Avatamsaka Sutra

This desk was actually used in the temple and the edges are a bit rolled up. In order to prevent the falling of the scroll books, the edges were specially designed. It is made of copper and an engraved Avatamsake Sutra appears on the face of the desk. It is the only artefact as such in Korea. Compared to other artefacts which contain Avatamsaka Sutra, this desk design is rather different and it seemed that the desk was only made for the design purpose. (Upper Side : 21.7 x 49.0cm)
