Gong is a musical instrument used in Buddhist temples. It is stoke with a hammer shaped wodden mallet to make a sound. On the side of the gong, it is inscribed with letters which say 'In May of the 51st year of the sexagesimal cycle, 32 geuns of metal was used to amend the gong in Heungdeoksa Temple in Seowonbu'
