Decorative or wall plates were produced for special occasions. The mining symbol of the hammer and pick is engraved on the back. It may well have been presented to the Chinese Prince Chun as a gift for the guest of honour from the Saarland mines during his visit to the Viktoria shafts in Püttlingen on 25 September 1901.
