Bronze winged phallic amulet

Many small winged phalloi such as this one were found at Herculaneum and Pompeii attached to bracelets worn around the necks and arms of chaste and pious matrons. Freud's collection of phallic amulets included objects from Roman, Greek and Oriental collections, many with loops to hang in homes and from garments.
