Brookridge House and Barlands House multi-storey flats were built in Bristol's Henbury suburb by John Laing and Son Ltd. Formerly a Gloucestershire village, Henbury was absorbed into Bristol in the early 20th century. Commissioned by Bristol County Borough Council, construction of the pair of fifteen-storey flats began in 1963. Each block has eighty-six dwellings.
