This brown bear was hunted in Somiedo (Asturias ) in 1915 and donated to the MNCN by the King Alfonso XIII. In the 16th century bears occupied most of the mountains of the Iberian Peninsula, but their regression started a century later, and nowadays they are only present in the Cantabrian Mountains.
