Rigidly frontal pale grey schist stone sculpture, in high relief, of Buddha Sakyamuni, seated in Dhyana Mudra, with a nimbus. The figure is fixed to a rectangular stone pedestal. Top-knot hair style with samghati foldings, covering all the body below neck excepting the palms. The image exudes a Buddha in gentle, graceful and compassionate aura. The drapery covers both the shoulders up to the folded legs. The hands are shown in lap and eyes are seen half opened. A small urna on the forehead is seen between the two perfectly carved eyebrows. The coiled hair in wavy lines and an usnisa (protuberance) represented in Indo-Greek style of Mahayana Buddhist cult. The Buddha is seated in Padmasana posture with two hands placed one over the other in front of the body in the gesture of meditation, i.e., Dhyana Mudra.
