This headdress is in the Indian Arts and Crafts Board collection at South Dakota's Sioux Indian Museum. Made for the buffalo dance, the headdress is of buffalo head hide with the hair still on and two buffalo horns attached on the inside. The brow band is made from a separate piece of leather with the edges painted blue. One either side of the brow band are two ermine drops. Beads, bells, feathers, and tassels are also used to decorate the headdress.
