This diorama depicts a buffalo hunt by Comanches. It was commissioned by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Indian Arts and Crafts Board in 1950. Figures are modeled out of beeswax and handpainted. Diorama landscaping is real sand and real native sandstone rocks, which Houser cut ridges in to make appear old and weathered.
