Studebaker-powered race cars performed well enough at Indianapolis in the early 1930s that the company commissioned a five-car, factory-backed team for 1932. Here, Studebaker engineers construct three of the cars in preparation for race day. Components and chassis were provided by Studebaker, while the race car bodies were custom built by Herman Rigling of Indianapolis.
