The bukhnaq (head dress) is a translucent hijab that covers the head and shoulders.
It is a traditional garment worn by young girls. For everyday bukhnaqs the embroidery would be simple, whereas for celebrations it would be heavily embroidered and worn with a gold piece of jewellery, known as the Hilali. Nowadays the bukhnaq is only worn by young girls during Garangao.
