A set of three woodblocks per motif is the usually complement used in Bagru to print the design repertoire. Here the fragrant Nargis flower motif block comprises the outline rekh block, the background colour block - gadh and the colour detailing block - datta.

There are at present four block makers in Bagru itself while the adjacent towns of Jaipur and Sanganer have considerably larger numbers. It takes about a week to make a set of blocks of well seasoned teak or sheesham wood.
