Nohonbashi Uogashi in the aftermath of the 1923 Kanto Earthquake. It is said that fire caused more damage than the earthquake itself, spreading all the way to the river and burning Uogashi’s ships. The fire which caused massive damage ironically became big trigger for the country’s modernization. Taken in 1923.
