Bust of a Young Boy

National Museums Liverpool

National Museums Liverpool
United Kingdom

Portrait of a young boy.
The head is turned to the right and slightly upwards, giving the bust an inquisitive look. It portrays a chubby boy of around ten, who wears a typical hairstyle where thick locks sweep deeply from the back of the head into the forehead to form a thick fringe. There is a small parting above the right eye, and at the back the short hair clings to the head. The right eye is cut slightly deeper than the left and the right cheek is more distinctly moulded. The nose is visibly damaged, with the the upper lip and right shoulder having been restored.
