This bust of Sir Christopher Wren is a plaster cast from the original by Edward Pearce, completed in 1673 in the Baroque period. Little is known of Pearce other than his profession as a carver, mason, contractor and designer who worked with Wren on three of the architect's London churches.
The original can be found in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.
