Bust of Postman Cheval, from the Ideal Palace's collection, is a gift from the artist following his concert on the premises in 2012. Made of polymer, the small sculpture portrays Postman Cheval in a realist style. With a full mustache and a cap pressed down on his head, his features are tired but he has a look of serenity. The work is faithful to the postman's known appearance and reveals a certain dexterity on the part of the artist, particularly in the work on details like the wrinkles on the neck and the hollows of the eyes. A golden patina illuminates the sculpture in places. The artist is familiar with the Rhône-Alpes region, home to the palace and its surrounding land, since he has a farm in Orgnac-l'Aven (Ardèche). Talking about his recent work as a sculptor, he says, "I now devote as much time as possible to sculpture, which I approach just as Ferdinand Cheval did, self taught."
