Plaster cast from a marble original, depicting Laocoon with his sons fighting with snakes, by the sculptors Hagesandros, Polydoros and Athenadoros, mid-1st century BC, preserved at the Vatican Museums. A copy of the bust of Laocoonte has been present in the Academy since 1803. It could also be the specimen purchased by Pelagio Palagi together with other heads between 1797 and 1798
