Khuti can be built anywhere in a house. They are most often found in pairs next to aliya (wall niche) or aada (in-built cabinet). They are also found near paniyara (Water pitcher storage) or in an array in the living rooms and courtyards. This pair of khuti next to an aliya were used to hang keys and bangles by the woman of the house.
