Bü 133 “Jungmeister” Aircraft

Following the end of World War I, Germany could neither possess an Air Force nor train pilots in the art of aerial combat as part of the Treaty of Versailles. To circumvent this ruling, when Adolf Hitler rose to power, Germany developed the Bü 133 “Jungmeister” in 1934 as a civilian aerobatic aircraft. In reality, Nazi Germany utilized this aircraft and the aerobatic flying schools to form a clandestine air force, later becoming the German Luftwaffe. The late Museum volunteer Ken Larson built this aircraft in 1972 as a replica Bü 133, flying it on the North American Airshow Circuit until donating it to the Museum in 1999.
