Cabinet on stand of Baroque style, decorated with marquetry. The decoration shows scenes of the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1713). On the central doors appears Phillip V of Spain with the figure of Fame, with his coat of arms and military trophies, and his chained enemies at his feet. Work of the Antwerp cabinetmaker Henry Van Soest (1659-1726) it was part of a group of eight pieces with the king’s monogram. All the information points to Francisco Maria de Paula Tellez Giron, IV Duke of Osuna, as the one who commissioned the pieces during his stay as plenipotentiary at the Utrecht Congress.
