Cai Guo-Qiang, Explosion Studio, Pompei, 2019

In 2019 Cai Guo-Qiang realizes Explosion Studio at the Amphitheatre of Pompeii: opening event of the exhibition held at the MANN - National Archaeological Museum of Naples entitled "In the Volcano. Cai Guo-Qiang and Pompeii" curated by Jérôme Neutres. The artist, through an explosive artistic experience, wanted to evoke the tragic eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, exploding reproductions of sculptures belonging to the MANN collections, such as the Venus Callipigia, Hercules and the Farnese Atlas.
