Calciferous (septate) concretion

The calciferous concretions found in rounded forms and are found in clayey layers. Are segmented into compartments by contraction fissures filled by calcite, constituted septate. The pink coloration is given by the presence of iron oxide. This sample was collected in 1870 by Antonio Carlos Melo, scientist of the National Museum, and province of the region between the municipalities of São Gabriel and Alegrete, Rio Grande do Sul.
