This calvary painting would have been part of the top of an unknown altarpiece. Although there is no documentation proving its origins available, the painting is similar to compositions by the painter for altarpieces in the province of Huesca: Saint Dominic in Almudévar, and Saint Catherine of Alexandria for the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene in Huesca, meaning it may date from 1490.
The figures are strong with angular clothing folds and expressive faces. The background landscape shows the walled city of Jerusalem, reproducing urban models seen in other works by the painter.
