This Hispano-Flemish panel from the last quarter of the 15th century by an anonymous artist depicts Christ being crucified at Calvary, with the Virgin Mary and Saint John the Evangelist standing on either side. Research and studies looking at its stylistic characteristics indicate the artist worked within Pedro García de Benabarre's circle. Records show Benabarre painted altarpieces in Aragon and Catalonia between 1445 and 1483. He produced a lot of work as a result of the collaborators and students in his workshop. Thanks to them, others began imitating his style, which endured in the eastern part of Alto Aragon and in Lleida province until the early 16th century.
