With particularly fine brushwork, this painting describes the intergrowth of pine tree upper branches and winter-sweet, two birds singing to each other, white flower blooming, showing the coming of spring. With eyes decorated by lacquer, the birds are vivid and lively. The ocular inserting technique is what Zhao Ji skilled in. At the lower right corner of the painting, it is inscribed: "The First Man in the World", followed by the gourd- shaped seal:"Imperial Seal". At the lower left corner, it is also inscribed with the Seal who is a connoisseur of Qing Dynasty:"The Private Seal of Yu Teng".
