Snapshot of the oncoming crowd with the 42nd Battalion (Royal Highlanders of Canada) C.E.F. in the streets of Mons on Armistice Day, November 11th,1918. The city was captured by German forces in 1914 and remained occupied until the final days of the war when the Canadian Corps was able to recapture Mons.
