The Canarian Banana is the most important crop in the Canary Islands, and for decades represented the most important industry fueling economic growth on the archipelago.

The Canarian Banana plant bears a unique fruit, which differentiates it from other bananas grown around the world. It is a small, yellow, speckled banana, but with a superior flavor, popular with food lovers all around the world. The banana is long with yellow skin, but the intensity of the skin color changes, depending on the variety, to indicate how ripe the fruit is. Once the Canarian Banana is peeled, its flesh is revealed; depending on the variety, this will be somewhere between off-white and yellow. It has a dense but soft texture. Its exquisite flavor that makes it such a unique and popular fruit in cookery.
