"From centuries wax was one of the materials used as a lightening system. One of the most usual products prepared with this material were candles, in cylinder or prism shape with a central wick to enlighten.
Candlesticks were the suitable basis to support candles. They could have two fastening systems: keyholes where to fit the candle, or spikes to stick them in. This candelabrum combines both systems, a keyhole on the top and four spike brackets at a lower level.
Below it has a tray used to pick up wax trickles.
In addition to be useful elements candlesticks were pieces of art with an important decoration according to the trending style of every period, in this case fleur-de-lis, big flowers and dragon heads."
