Cannon with the emblems of Louis XII Side view

Brought back from Algiers in 1830, this bronze cannon dates back to the reign of Louis XII (1498–1515). The grooved breech has a sided stud. The reinforce has a crowned porcupine, the emblem of King Louis XII (1462–1515), which is the only decoration behind the bearings. The barrage, separated from the reinforce by a molding, is scattered with fleurs-de-lis and has a rim with moldings at the end. The touch pan, at the front of the metal strip of the breech, is surrounded by the letter G. Two square recesses have been included in the metal strip of the breech, with a short inscription on its right-hand side. The bore of the cannon is smooth
