Canticle of the Sun (orig. Sonnengesang)

Abstract composition in gold, silver, gray, black and blue, with drawing, painting and collage interventions. This particular "flaming" form, which Karl Schmid repeats in many of his paintings, symbolizes St. Francis of Assisi's "Canticle of the Sun," from which this work itself gets the title. The frame is also by the artist.
