Ross has had a lifelong interest in American History and the “folk hero” who is a product of that history and has long been the motivating force behind his work. Favorite subjects include: Cowboys, Indians and historical battles in the American Indian Wars.

Mount Shasta is a volcanic mountain in Siskiyou County, California. It is near the lava beds where Kintpuash, a Modoc Indian (appx. 1837-1873) also known as Captain Jack, held off a US Army force for months, despite being heavily outnumbered.
