Whitman Publishing Co. of Racine, Wisconsin, specialized in the production of children's books as well as in paper-based games. During the 1930s, the firm produced several boxed sets of different games printed on individual cardstock. These sets provided children and parents with ideas for playtime activities and the sets, inexpensive enough, were a bargain in the years of the Great Depression. Similarly, the firm published "72 Pictured Party Stunts Played with Cards" in 1933 as a similar set of ideas. This could also be played as a game, with the recipients of certain cards acting out the stunts printed there.
