Corn & Beans is a very early example of a questioning card game, with a copyright date of 1875. Games such as this can be seen as precursors to contemporary questioning games such as Trivial Pursuit. In Corn & Beans, players keep score with either a kernel of corn or a single bean. They must also shout either one or the other during the play--which doubtless adds to the fun. The winning player is named the "model scholar."
