Although called "Hidden Authors," this game by Clark & Sowdon is not a classical Authors game at all. Rather than a matching game, it is a questioning or guessing game. A reader reads a fact from a card, containing hints to the author's last name. the first player on his left to guess wins the card. The player with the most cards at the end of the game wins. Was it a marketing ploy to use the name "Authors?" Or did Clark & Sowdon hope their different version would become a hit? It is unfortunate that the box cover illustration is so faded.
