Card game:Improved Historical Cards

McLoughlin's Improved Historical Cards teaches history while it entertains. A simple questioning game, the lead player asks questions from the cards, and the correctly answering players keep cards. The winner is the player with the most cards at the end. The instruction sheet adds "remarks" such as "select each card according to the age and capacity of the one to whom he is reading," and "Inquiry should be encouraged concerning person and events referred to." A detailed box cover illustraion, typical of McLoughlin Brothers, and an early date of 1884 make this a great example of a teaching card game.
