Card game:Logomachy or War of Words

An 1874 Copyright date marks McLoughlin's Logomachy, or War of Words card game. The game is a simple word-forming game not unlike today's Scrabble. Word games such as Anagrams and this example are the precursors to Scrabble. And, as spelling games, they were educational as well as entertaining.
