Card game:Logomachy or War of Words

The game Logomachy or War of Words is related to the game Anagrams, which was (and is) produced by many different manufacturers. The object is to take a trick, or win a group of cards, by forming a word. Like Anagrams, Logomachy is a natural precursor to crossword puzzles, and to the game Scrabble.
