Cartoonist Frank King created "Gasoline Alley" in 1918, and it went on to become the second longest-running comic strip in America. Different from most other strips because the characters aged naturally, bore children, and sometimes died over the years, Gasoline Alley found loyal readers in several generations. It also fostered the creation of games, such as Milton Bradley's "Skeezix: A Rollicking Card Game," in the 1930s. Skeezix is a character in the strip. The card game is a standard trick-taking game in which players win points by winning successive hands, or "tricks," during the game play.
