George Parker, of Parker Brothers, copyrighted this card game in 1887. The Amusing Game of the Corner Grocery is a trading game utilizing two kinds of cards. The larger cards represent store goods for purchase, and the smaller "counter" cards represent money. Players purchase goods with money during the course of play and the one with the most goods at the end is the winner. Like so many other games of the late 19th century, this game both educates and entertains.
