A popular type of children's card game from the later 19th century is the trading type game, usually played with both cards and counters, which may stand for points or numbers of cards, etc. Though rules and themes vary, in general the winning player accumulates the highest number of either cards or counters. This unique early George Parker version is named Yankee Peddlar, similar to other games, but the play is a trading game instead of a story game as the others (McLoughlin) seem to be.
