Katherine Dunham and her dance group Dunham Company concluded the Holland Festival in 1949 with the performance "A Caribbean Rhapsody" at Stadschouwburg Amsterdam. Dunham collaborated with her husband John Pratt for the set and costume designs. The dance company was founded in the U.S. and had members of various nationalities which includes American, Cuban, Haitian, Martinican and Argentine.
