Caribbean Times' was first published in 1981 by Hansib Publications Limited. The newspaper regularly reported on international politics related primarily to the Caribbean, African-Caribbean and Asian-Caribbean diaspora in Britain and was described by founder Arif Ali as a 'campaigning newspaper'. The paper campaigned and reported against racism, apartheid, police discrimination and violence, liberal interventionism and western imperialism. The paper also campaigned for better public services and equal opportunities in employment. The paper also commented on British African-Caribbean and international black sportsman between 1981-2001. This particular issue was reporting on the new strict regulations about the importation of cars by Caribbean people returning to Britain. ref HANSIB/2
