Caroline of Brunswick married the future King George IV in 1795. They hated each other, however, and soon separated. Caroline held the Rangership of Greenwich Park, living in the grounds at Montague House. Her mother, Augusta, sister of George III, lived close by in Ranger’s House. Damer worked in marble and bronze as well as terracotta, producing sculptures depicting many of the British political elite of the 19th century.
