Carpet Bedding Designs for Victoria Park, London, from Thompson's 'Gardener's Assistant'

A chromolithograph by G. Severeyns after a drawing by F.W. Burbidge depicting carpet bedding designs' for a circular bed planted in Victoria Park, London, in 1875, plus a portion of a border also as planted in Victoria Park. Bedding plants listed are:
Upper fig. - 1. Coleus Vershaffeltii Improved, 2. Leucophyton Brownii, 3. Altenanthera paronychioides major, 4. Pyrethrum Golden Feather, 5. Echeveria secunda glauca, 6. Altenanthera amoena, 7. Mesembryanthemum cordifolium variegatum.
Lower fig. - 1. Echeveria glauca metallica, 2. Pyrethrum Golden Feather, 3. Altenanthera amoena, 4. Antennaria tomentosa, 5. Sempervivum tabulieform, 6. Echeveria secunda glauca.

From 'The Gardener's Assistant' by Robert Thompson, with this new edition revised and extended by Thomas Moore 'assisted by eminent practical gardeners' and published by Blackie & Son, London in 1878. The first edition of the Gardener's Assistant was published in 1859 and final version appears to be the 'new edition' published in 1913 just prior to World War I by The Gresham Publishing Company in six volumes.
