Tomás Olivar Duro (1929-2013) He was part of the first year group of the Art School of the Diputació of Tarragona, after the Civil War, as a student of Gonzalo Lindín and Garcianguera. Once ha had completed his studies, he presented works at a number of biennials and competitions, and won several prizes and distinctions nationwide.  With this painting he won the Diputació of Tarragona Award at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts of Barcelona in 1960.  In 1962 he returned to the Art School as a lecturer in drawing and painting. He basically works with landscapes, without overlooking the treatment of the figure. His work is characterised by great homogeneity in which two elements stand out: vivid colours and Mediterranean light.
