The process of purchasing designs for stained glass windows and drawings associated with the Krakow cathedral for the collection of the National Museum in Krakow was started by the artist himself on 17 September 1901, when he deposited his pastel cartoon Casimir the Great. On 12 October 1906 the National Museum Committee decided to execute the stained glass design Casimir the Great in glass.
