In 1860, a Chicago sculptor asked to make a casting of Lincoln’s face and hands for a sculpture he wanted to make. Mr. Lincoln’s face was cast in Chicago. When Mr. Lincoln removed the casting material, he pulled out some of the hairs at his temple, causing his eyes to water for several minutes.
