The castle of Cifuentes is located on the top of a promontory, near this town. It was ordered by don Juan Manuel in 1324. Don Juan Manuel was the grandson of Ferdinand III called “the Saint”, the cousin of Alfonso X “the Wise” and the uncle of Sancho IV.
