Many artworks can be found inside the mother church of Modica.
Entering the church, the first work you can appreciate is the majestic wooden Polittico painted in 1513 and attributed to the late Modica-born Mannerist painter Bernardino Niger (or Nigro). The work consists of 10 painted panels representing the Holy Family and Jesus’ life covering the whole wall.
