Sotsol, also called pulppuri or solpul, is a brush used to wipe off soot from a cast iron caldron. The brush was made of either bushes of kudzu and other weeds or the roots of pine bushes. It is said that beggars in Hongcheon of Gangwon Province made this brush to give in exchange for meals.
